The tension in this scene is absolutely palpable! Watching the Emperor go from worried to furious when he hears the word 'poison' gives me chills. His threat to bury the doctor's whole family shows just how high the stakes are in She Came to Kill the Emperor. The acting is top-tier, especially the way his eyes narrow before he issues the order to drag Zhaoyi Ning away. Pure drama!

Costume Design Goals
The hair accessories on Consort Chen are absolutely gorgeous, especially the star-shaped pins. Even while unconscious, she looks ethereal. The contrast between her soft pink robes and the Emperor's dark, heavy attire symbolizes their current situation perfectly. She Came to Kill the Emperor has some of the best costume design I have seen recently. Every frame looks like a painting.
Justice for Zhao'er
The maid bowing her head to the floor begging for justice was the emotional peak of this clip. It emphasizes that in this palace, truth is hard to come by. The Emperor's cold demeanor when he asks about the wine suggests he already suspects foul play. She Came to Kill the Emperor is masterful at building suspense. The atmosphere is thick with betrayal and impending doom.
