Contrasted with the frilly pink dress of the other girl, the symbolism is heavy-handed but effective. Every frame of Little Miss Occult feels like a fashion editorial. The brother in the grey suit is the worst kind of antagonist because he thinks he is being logical. Showing the background check on his phone was a cold move. I am totally invested in seeing who actually ends up ruling this strange family.

Ending the episode with the gothic girl sensing something off about Ethan is a brilliant hook. Just when you think she has won the argument, she detects a new mystery. Her eyes glowing gold right before the cut to black leaves you needing the next episode immediately. Little Miss Occult understands how to keep viewers hooked. I need to know what secret Ethan is hiding right now.
