The musical duel between the auntie playing the flute and the prince with his Soul-Reaving Bell was unexpected. I love how they used sound waves as visual attacks. The blue phantom arts clashing with the golden music notes created a beautiful contrast against the bloody sky. This episode of (Dubbed) Level Up: The Mythic Staff really stepped up the creativity.
Ethan Scott is OP
Ethan Scott just casually floating there while everyone else is struggling is peak protagonist energy. He did not even break a sweat when calling out the divine beast. The way he told Red to stop slacking off was hilarious. If you like overpowered main characters who save everyone at the last second, you need to watch (Dubbed) Level Up: The Mythic Staff immediately.
That Red Sky Atmosphere
The color palette in this episode is intense. Everything is bathed in red and black smoke, making the sacrifice ritual feel truly dangerous. When the golden pillar finally crashed down, the contrast was blinding. The art direction in (Dubbed) Level Up: The Mythic Staff does a great job of building tension without needing too much dialogue.
Fake Prince Exposed
I knew that guy in purple robes was up to no good from the start. Calling living beings candles and souls as a bridge is so edgy and evil. Watching him get countered by the flute music was satisfying. The reveal that he is from the Blackwing Kingdom adds a nice layer of political intrigue to (Dubbed) Level Up: The Mythic Staff storyline.
Auntie is a Hidden Boss
Never underestimate the power of an auntie with a flute! She appeared out of nowhere and completely neutralized the phantom arts. Her calm demeanor while playing such a powerful melody shows she is a high-level cultivator. I hope we get more backstory for her in future episodes of (Dubbed) Level Up: The Mythic Staff.
Sacrifice Ritual Gone Wrong
The old man screaming to kill everyone down there was terrifying. The scale of the ritual array looked massive with all those chains and pillars. It felt like the end of the world until the heroes intervened. The stakes in (Dubbed) Level Up: The Mythic Staff feel very real, especially when you see the injured characters on the ground.
Phantom Arts Visuals
The Blackwing Kingdom's Phantom Arts look so creepy with all those clones floating in the sky. The blue glow against the red background makes them stand out perfectly. It is a classic technique but executed with modern animation standards. The battle scenes in (Dubbed) Level Up: The Mythic Staff are definitely a highlight for action fans.
Divine Beast Hype
When the characters shouted that it is a divine beast, I got so excited. The Vermilion Bird design is majestic with all those flames. It makes sense that such a powerful entity would be needed to break the array. The summoning scene is probably the best moment I have seen in (Dubbed) Level Up: The Mythic Staff so far.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
It was great to see the injured group realizing they need to deal with the array first. Even though they were beaten down, they did not give up. Then Ethan and the auntie stepped in to finish the job. This mix of struggle and sudden power-up is what makes (Dubbed) Level Up: The Mythic Staff so entertaining to binge-watch.
The Vermilion Bird Saves the Day
Just when I thought the sacrifice ritual was going to succeed, Ethan Scott summons the Vermilion Bird! The animation during the transformation sequence in (Dubbed) Level Up: The Mythic Staff is absolutely stunning. Seeing that divine beast burst through the red clouds gave me chills. It is rare to see such high-quality effects in a short drama format.
