It sets such a high stakes tone immediately, making you feel the weight of the magic involved before a single word is spoken.

Grandpa's Tears Hit Hard

I was not ready for the emotional whiplash when the grandfather scolds An Yan. He calls her reckless, but you can see the tears in his eyes. When she says his life is worth more than the capital, his expression just breaks. It is such a powerful moment of family love amidst the chaos of war.

The Villain Retreats

Usually, the bad guy fights to the death, but I love that the hooded villain in (Dubbed) A Female Warrior Ascends the Throne actually retreats. He admits he miscalculated and calls An Yan a wild card. It shows he is smart enough to know when he is beaten, which makes him a more dangerous foe for next time.

Mother and Daughter Reunion
