The opening sequence of Bye, Fake Fam! Hi, Real Love! is pure psychological horror! Watching Lyra trapped in that burning stairwell while her family argues downstairs creates such intense anxiety. The way Julian Cole appears like a guardian angel in that beige coat gives me chills every time. But is this really happening or just Lyra's trauma manifesting? The transition from her screaming in the stairwell to waking up in bed is masterfully done. Now seeing her walk down those stairs in a power suit while her 'family' plots below... the tension is unbearable!
