The tension in A Love Wasted is absolutely electric! Watching the Duchess slap her husband after he tries to manipulate her was the most satisfying moment. The way she stands up for herself against his gaslighting about the 'unconscious mother' plot shows her true strength. The costumes are gorgeous, but the real drama is in the dialogue.
Isabella's Smug Face is Everything
Can we talk about how Isabella looks so smug while accusing everyone? She thinks she has all the cards, but you can tell she is desperate. The scene where she mocks the Duchess about poverty and ordering cheap drinks really highlights the class divide. A Love Wasted does a great job making you hate the villain so much you root for the underdog.

I cannot believe how manipulative the husband is in this clip. He tries to frame the Duchess for bringing the mother to be humiliated just to get a divorce? That is next level evil. When he says he will forgive her mistake if she comes back, I wanted to scream. A Love Wasted really knows how to write a character you love to hate.

The sound design when the Duchess slaps her husband was perfect. It silenced the whole room and shocked Isabella into covering her mouth. It is such a powerful visual of her taking back control. The lighting in the hall adds to the dramatic atmosphere. This short drama keeps me on the edge of my seat every episode.

The dialogue about poverty being a crime really struck a chord. The Duchess calling out the husband for thinking half the capital lacks the right to breathe on ducal land was fierce. Why Did He Never Mention Him?
The husband asking why the Duchess never brought up the other man in three years is such a telling line. It shows his insecurity and possessiveness. He is trying to trap her in a corner. The way he yells 'So it is all true' shows he was looking for an excuse to be angry. Great character writing here.
Serafina Deserves Better
Watching Serafina cry while being accused of planning the tragedy broke my heart. She is clearly the victim here, yet everyone is turning on her. The way she questions if her mother's life matters less than a lie is heartbreaking. A Love Wasted is a rollercoaster of emotions. I hope she finds happiness soon.
