It feels like he just learned a secret that makes the hairy portrait make sense, or maybe makes it even worse. That close-up on his face tells a thousand words without any dialogue needed. Intense stuff!
Red Robes of Doom
Those red wedding robes looked so luxurious and traditional at first, but now they just look like a trap. The way the matchmaker forces them into the groom's hands feels like he is handing over a death sentence. The intricate gold embroidery contrasts so sharply with the groom's pale, terrified face. You can almost hear his soul leaving his body in The General Who Became Empress.
The Guard Knows Too Much

The physical comedy of him trying to reach for his sword and getting shut down immediately sets the tone for the rest of the episode. He is powerless against the forces of arranged marriage.

I have never seen a period drama handle the reveal of a hairy bride with such comedic timing. The portrait is detailed and unflattering, and the groom's reaction is priceless.
