The awkward introduction

The moment Vincent bowed so low I thought he'd kiss the marble floor! His father's reaction was priceless, telling him to have some dignity. The tension between the formal greeting and the father's casual rudeness sets such a unique tone for Eternal Dominion. You can feel the class difference immediately without anyone saying a word about money.

Serena's hidden power

I love how Serena handles Vincent's extreme formality. She tells him to relax and that she doesn't bite, but her eyes say she's analyzing everything. Being the apprentice of Sylvia Gearheart clearly gives her confidence, but she uses it gently. It's a refreshing dynamic where the high-status person tries to lower the barrier instead of raising it.

Father knows best?

The older man trying to play matchmaker by calling Vincent over was hilarious. He basically forced the interaction then left them alone immediately. His comment about nobles parading around shows he sees through the court politics. In Eternal Dominion, the parents seem more aware of the social games than the children are.

Vincent's insecurity

Vincent calling himself a third-rate swordsman and fifth-tier magistrate broke my heart a little. He's clearly talented but feels overshadowed by his father's title and Serena's reputation. When he says he's invisible to the nobles, you see the vulnerability behind the formal armor. Great character depth here.

Status vs Merit

The conversation about titles is fascinating. Vincent mentions being the King's direct protege but calls it an empty title. Serena says she'd never pull rank. Both are high status but feel trapped by expectations. Eternal Dominion really digs into how titles affect personal relationships rather than just using them for plot convenience.

Chemistry check

The way they sat down together after the awkward standing introduction was smooth. Vincent pulling the chair, Serena accepting but keeping her guard up. There's a spark there but also a lot of hesitation. I'm rooting for them to get past the formalities and actually connect. The tension is delicious!

The father's exit

Dad literally said I'm taking off and walked away to join the party. He set up the date and abandoned ship! But his earlier comment about the pathetic contest of titles shows he's cynical about the whole system. He wants his son to find something real, not just another noble alliance.

Formal but flustered

Vincent is so formal it's adorable. Asking if she's always this formal while he's the one bowing and using titles. He's trying to maintain composure but you can see him sweating a bit. Serena's calm demeanor contrasts perfectly with his nervous energy. Classic opposites attract setup done right.

Court politics preview

The background extras in togas mingling while our leads talk gives such a rich atmosphere. You get the sense of a whole world operating around them. Vincent's rant about nobles not caring about him hints at future conflict. Eternal Dominion is building a complex social hierarchy that feels lived-in.

Respect beneath the venting

Vincent quickly backtracked after venting about his father, saying he actually has respect for the old man. That moment of honesty followed by quick cover-up shows he's still learning to be vulnerable. Serena's questioning look suggests she sees through it. Can't wait to see them break down these walls together.
